Welcome first time Japanese Tease reader. I started this site back in 2013 to share my Japanese learning progress and the resources I discovered over the years. Whenever I find a new website I enjoy (and let’s just assume that you enjoy this one here) I really like an introductory posts with a nice list of articles that get me started. It’s been way to long for this site to be around and not have an article like this. So here you go, my top recommendations with neat articles on Japanese Tease that you shouldn’t miss (just to be clear, the whole page is dope though).

My guide to self-studying Japanese
Wanna learn Japanese from scratch? That’s the route I would take. From learning Hiragana and Katakana with ease on to Kanji, listening and reading comprehension and the best textbook around. Should be more than enough to keep you busy for a while.
Easy to read Japanese manga
Isn’t that all we want? A 5 post collection with some easy manga to tackle as a Japanese beginner. It’s still native material though which means that you still need a basic foundation to not make it entirely frustrating. To judge your skills I took lots of pictures of the titles I recommend. It’s just a glimpse but usually enough for you to make a decision.
The Japanese Graded Readers Series
Graded reading material with an MP3 audio CD. That means very easy stories in Japanese especially written with the foreign Japanese learner in mind. Start with these if you want to build up some confindence in your Japanese abilities and are not on the level of “easy” native material yet. No shame in that.
