I love all my books and manga and always try to protect them the best way possible. On my visit to Tokyo, I discovered these lovely book protective sleeves at K-Books in Akihabara and had to buy a couple for my latest purchases. The quality is quite good, the price with 120-200¥ depending on the size, is not that bad and it’s really easy to apply them to your books. There are 10 pieces in each packaging, so you can do the math what one of these ブッカー君, how they are actually called, might cost you.
Unfortunately, I haven’t found a place outside of Japan which is offering these. Even our beloved honto bookstore doesn’t carry any. There are some others brands around offering these protective sleeves but until today I haven’t found a good source for them. When you’re currently in Japan trying to pick some ブッカー君 up for yourself, Tsutaya should always have some in their manga sections. I bought maybe 20-30 of these in different sizes so I’m all set, book-cover-wise.
Update: One of the readers mentioned that you can get these transparent book covers at cdjapan. Thanks a lot for finding these!
And now I should really go and work on my Japanese grammar. I have been slacking a bit these last few weeks. Genki here I come.
A very nice alternative. The prices are for 25/100 pieces which explain the price difference to the other ones. The one listed below is for 少年 manga e.g. One Piece, Naruto etc. You get the drift. That small format JUMP manga for roughly ¥ are always printed in.
Most 青年 titles like Billy Bat or the Dragon Ball 完全 版 use this format:
Maybe you were wondering why all my manga looked to “shiny” on my pictures. That’s because I applied these book sleeves to all of them. It’s good for reading and storing them but always a pain to take proper pictures because of the reflections.
Would this fit Kanzenban editions as well?
Yes, the green ones will.
Hello!
Which of the covers would you recommend for these manga:
– H 17.3cm x W 11.3cm
– H 17.7cm x W 11.5cm
– H 18.3cm x W 13cm
By any means, all of these measurements are from Japanese manga that I have bought online and not the English ones
Do you know which cover could work with the Tokyo Ghoul volumes in the US? The dimensions are 5.8 x 0.8 x 8.2 inches.
Hello Jaethan, my name is Phuong from Vietnam. I sell many types of these book protective sleeves. If you interested, pls contact.
Hello Lê Phuong. Do you still sell these books sleeves? Kindly email me please.
hello there!!! I was wondering what size would be suitable for the Tokyo pop North American manga format??
Hey Ramon, I don’t own any of these books but if you post the measurements in cm I can compare the size with my Japanese manga.
Its 19.05cm(height) x 12.7cm(width) tnx!!!
Won‘t be home till tomorrow evening but will check it then and get back to you
Sorry for the late reply Ramon, but I completely forgot about it.
I just measured both Shirokuma cafe and Yotsubato and both won’t fit the dimensions you mentioned. The A5 one would be your best bet with 21cm (length) to 15cm (width). The 青年 one (green) is 18cm x 13cm.
Hi! Which sleeve should I get for Kuroshitsuji? The dimensions are 18 x 12.8 x 2.2 cm
The 青年 one (green) is 18cm x 13cm and will fit this title perfectly.
which one’s will fit viz media manga like naruto or one piece?
If they preserved the Japanese format you can use the ones with the blue ribbon saying 少年少女
Hi, may i ask the sticker peeling part is to stick on the manga book itself? It is the back of the book right? Thank u so much.
The sticky part just connects to the foil itself when you wrapped it around your manga. No glue will touch your comic.
help!!!! what if i have the 3 in 1 manga edition or the vizbig edition?
These protected sleeves only cater to the Japanese market and are probably not compatible with most US editions unless they just used the Japanese format. There are definitely none for these super big 3 in 1 editions.
Hello! I want to know which ones are fitting for the HxH Volumes! Thank youuuuuu~~~<333
Classic JUMP sizing so just get the ones with the blue ribbon (少年)
can anyone tell me that which size is the perfect fit for standard paperback manga. Thanks.
If you are referring to the ever popular JUMP manga and their classic sizing 少年 ones fit perfectly (with the blue ribbon)
Hey I wanted to know witch ones will fit perfectly with my naruto manga collection? Thank you
The 少年 ones fit perfectly (with the blue ribbon)
Thank you very much. I love my mangas and would hate it to find them get dirty. I asked cdjapan about the covers and found out they have them already! Based on what you mentioned B6 is good for Yotsubato. I leave the link here in case someone is interested.

Thanks a lot!!! Just updated the page as well. Really glad that you managed to find these online, will need some more of the big ones soon.
You’re welcome ^-^. (Forgot to sighn in before *_*)
They’re wonderful. I need them. Witch one is good to cover Yotsubato? I’m bad at calculating so please save me here!
Thank you so much for sharing.
Glad you like them. I have to admit that I’m really fond of these covers. Just feels good to wrap all those new manga which just came in.
You would have to use the green ones where 青年 is written on the to left (green) strip.
The red ones fit bigger manga like all complete editions and Shirokuma Café.
The blue ones are for all small shonen manga.
Also mach nur weiter so.
