In dependece on my last post about the beautiful special edition packaging of Mizkan Vinegar I wanted to share some manga, anime and dvd artworks with you. As you may already know the cover designs are usually not done by the artists of the products themselves. There are a huge number of different graphic design firms out there who specialized in this kind of work. Unfortunately there is only few packaging design featured in this book (which is pretty awesome nonetheless). Each page is dedicated to a different firm featuring their artwork and even including the tools they use. All adobe products with no exceptions. Never would have thought that the whole industry is using the exact same tools.
I’m currently trying to learn some designing basics with Sketch which I bought on the recommendation of my good buddy Sebastian (who is also resonsible for the technical side of things at Japanese Tease). Everything he touches becomes pure programming gold. When my current semester is finally over I’ll watch some tutorial videos to make my own banners for the blog. Always liked likd it when other bloggers promoted some content of theirs with a nice graphic. Maybe I’ll even get some inspiration for a logo update from this marvelous book. All the fonts in there should be enough to give you inspiartion for a couple projects alone.
