Learn Japanese with JapanesePod101.com

Through my recent tumblr endeavors I discovered Takashi Yasui a freelance photographer based in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. Like me he’s using one of the marvelous Fujifilm X cameras for his pictures and really manages to capture the essence of everyday life in Japan. I’ve always been a big fan of street style photography which for me isn’t only about fashion. Discovering a new city is always best done on foot in my opinion (and there is a great book about discovering Tokyo on foot) and that’s kinda what Takashi Yasui is doing for you with his pictures.

Using the really nice filters by VSCO his pictures get the certain analog look that really goes nicely along with this kind of photography. Reminds me that I should go out again and just take some pictures. Unfortunately we all know how uninspiring one’s own city can be. Time for a short holiday I suppose. And don’t forget to follow Yasuis tumblr.
