Kaws’ new studio by Wonderwall

I’m a huge fan of both the interior designer / architect Masamichi Katayama (Wonderwall) and Kaws, the brooklyn based artist. Katayama became famous through designing the Bape stores worldwide and even did the small Original Fake store in Aoyama (which is closed since May 13). If you have a knack for interior design you should do yourself a favor and get the book Wonderawall Archives 01 which features some of his finest works (and includes the OF store as well).

Hands down, Wonderwall did another glorious job in designing Kaws’s studio. Love the use of brushed aluminum. When I see the small Astro Boy vinyl figure standing there I really begin to miss the days Kaws still made his art toys. It was so exciting when you knew that a new figure would drop at noon, sitting in front of your laptop with a cold beer, hitting refresh…
