A BATHING APE x ZOZOTOWN – DENIM COLLECTION

Without a doubt Zozotown is the superior Japanese online shop when you’re looking for clothing and accessoires from Japan. Many even prefer buying their Bape stufe at Zozo instead of going the direct route with A Bathing Ape’s own wesbtore. I don’t know why because neither will ship internationionally but there has to be a reason.

I’ve been window shopping at zozotown on a regular basis and always found so much tasteful stuff that I’d have loved to order. But living in Europe and considering heavy duty fees on imported clothing in Germany, it just wasn’t worth the hassle. So I haven’t actually ordered anything at their webstore so far. Maybe I’ll break this time. The collaboration with Bape just seems too unique to pass up on it and is actually the best I’ve seen from the Japanese cult brand in a long time. Just love the denim shark hoody and the cowboy-like Jeans style in general.

You can clearly feel the influence of Nigo’s relatively new label Human Made on this collection. I wouldn’t be surprised if he actually had been involved in the project. Would be nice to know for sure.

If some of you really want to order one or two pieces of the collection you can still use a proxy buying service. They will purchase the stuff for you and then forward the package to your home. Of course this will cost you something but considering that this collection will never leave Japan, it may be worth the trouble and money. For those of you who are interested I can recommend to buy the collection via Pondon who is mainly selling Japanese street wear but offers a trustworthy proxy buying service as well.

On as side note: You can also pick up the collection at the Bape Exclusives Store in Aoyama. So if you’re around, just give it a shot.
